The 2025 NASCAR Cup Series hits Indianapolis Motor Speedway this weekend, and it all kicks off with practice today, Friday, July 25.
Whilst Cup Series stars are often not afforded the luxury of having practice and qualifying on separate days, that is the case this weekend, with the extra time no doubt set to allow teams the chance to further hone in on a strong setup for the remainder of the weekend, making the cars on track even faster.
EDITOR'S UPDATE: NASCAR Cup Series practice at Indianapolis Motor Speedway has been cancelled due to the weather. There will be no Cup Series action at IMS on Friday.
39 drivers feature on the entry list for Cup Series action, with open entries such as Katherine Legge in the No. 78, Josh Bilicki in the No. 66 and Jesse Love in the No. 66 set to compete alongside the 36 full-time drivers. Although, of course, after their recent legal drama, the 23XI and Front Row Motorsports cars are also running as open entries.
In last year's Cup Series race at Indianapolis, known as the Brickyard 400, Hendrick Motorsports star Kyle Larson took the victory, fending off the likes of Tyler Reddick, who took pole at the track last year, and Ryan Blaney to do so.
With all that said, let's get into the timing and TV details you need to know about ahead of Friday's practice action.
