F1 Results Today: McLaren dominate at Austrian Grand Prix as Max Verstappen suffers nightmare

British F1 star Lando Norris has won the Austrian Grand Prix after a dominant display for McLaren, taking his third victory of the season.

Norris started on pole in Sunday's race but had to fend off his charging teammate and championship rival Oscar Piastri during the first stint at the Red Bull Ring, with the Aussie even momentarily gaining the lead at one stage before Norris quickly went back ahead.

After laps and laps of exciting, hard racing, Norris retained the lead, and with the Brit having priority when it came to pit stops, Piastri's job was made even harder as the race progressed.

In the closing stages of the race, the Aussie had cut the gap down to under two seconds, but crucially, he could not get into the DRS range, and so Norris was able to comfortably keep him behind in the closing laps, ultimately coming home 2.6 seconds ahead of his rival.

Elsewhere in Austria, Charles Leclerc rounded out the top three in his Ferrari, with his teammate Lewis Hamilton finishing in P4, ahead of Mercedes' George Russell in fifth.

Verstappen now trails championship leader Oscar Piastri by 61 points.
