Ram Brand CEO Tim Kuniskis is targeting having four Ram trucks on the grid at next year's season opener at Daytona after revealing their new Ram 1500 concept race truck.

"For more than a decade, customers and our dealer network asked about getting back into NASCAR. The desire was always there, but we didn’t have a plan that delivered the last tenth and following just didn’t fit our DNA,” Kuniskis said in an official press release.

“Now we have a solid plan that will set us apart from the field and will bring fresh new interest and engagement to America’s Motorsport.”

Ram returning to NASCAR a 'major moment'

Also speaking as part of the official statement that confirmed Ram's return, NASCAR executive vice president and chief racing development officer hailed today's announcement as a major moment for the stock car racing series.

“Ram returning to the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series is a major moment for the sport, and a sign that NASCAR remains a strong platform for blue chip brand partners,” Probst explained.

“We are excited to welcome Ram back to the sport. Its identity includes high performance, durability and innovation – characteristics that embody NASCAR and, specifically, the CRAFTSMAN Truck Series.”

At this moment in time, it is not clear which teams will use Ram cars in 2026, but the brand's CEO did admit that he is in need of one or more team partnerships to make his hopes of having four cars on the grid next year a reality.

The Ram CEO also hinted that the brand have plans to return to the Cup Series in the future, but that it all depends on how this next step goes first.

“We’re looking for a date to the prom right now,” Kuniskis explained.

“So, how am I going to get to Cup? That’s going to depend on how I get to Truck.

"S,o however we get to Truck is going to obviously weigh heavily on ‘do I have a path to Cup?’

"Our intention is not to do a one-hit wonder and go to Truck and not to Cup. That’s not our plan.”
