Max Verstappen on pole, Valtteri Bottas in the pit lane
Despite a 37-point lead in the F1 standings and six wins this season, remarkably, for only the third time this year, Max Verstappen starts from pole position for a grand prix.
With hordes of the orange army supporting Verstappen at the race in Austria, the reigning F1 champion is a red-hot favourite to make it five wins from the last seven races at the Red Bull Ring.
As in Saturday's sprint, Verstappen will have Ferrari duo Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz chasing him through the first few corners as they start second and third.
It is a case of what might have been for Mercedes given the pace George Russell and Lewis Hamilton have shown but crashes in Friday qualifying put them on the back foot and the duo line up fourth and eighth respectively.
At the rear is quite an unusual line-up, with past champions Sebastian Vettel and Fernando Alonso 18th and 19th for Aston Martin and Alpine respectively.
Alonso is undoubtedly out of position after initially qualifying eighth but an electrical issue just before the sprint forced him out, and given his low grid slot, the team has taken the opportunity to fit a raft of new power unit components.
Valtteri Bottas was due to start at the rear in his Alfa Romeo after he also received a new power unit earlier in the weekend, but the Finn will now start from the pit lane after taking on a new rear-wing assembly.
