Red Bull's "intense homework" ahead of Turkish GP revealed
Sergio Perez has revealed Red Bull has carried out "intense homework" to prepare for this weekend's Turkish Grand Prix.
Red Bull has slipped to 33 points adrift of Mercedes in the constructors' standings with the German manufacturer scoring nearly double the points of Perez's team since the British Grand Prix in July.
Perez lost out on a podium last time out when failing to switch to intermediates at the correct time with rain falling in the closing stages and with little data to use for Istanbul Park after last year's issues with the track surface, the Mexican has explained the measures taken by the team ahead of the weekend.
"We did a lot of work after Russia to analyse what went wrong and what went right and where we can look to improve," said Perez.
"I have spent some more time on the sim ahead of Turkey too, so we have done some pretty intense homework for this weekend.
"I am looking forward to the last seven races now and I am sure our luck will turn, we are performing well on track but now we must show that with our results on a Sunday, I want to be back on the podium this weekend."
Verstappen - "Always feels special" racing for Honda
Red Bull will race with a one-off tribute livery to Honda this weekend in a move originally planned for the Japanese Grand Prix which was replaced by Turkey on the calendar.
The Japanese manufacturer withdraws from F1 at the end of the season and Max Verstappen said: "It always feels special to race for Honda, even without the special livery.
"For us as a team and for Honda to miss out on the Japanese GP is a shame, but it’s cool that we can do something in Turkey instead to celebrate.
"I’m excited to see it and it’s really special to have the car look different for a race so I’m looking forward to that."
