Vettel "enjoying racing again" with Aston Martin

Vettel has refound his love for F1 after a difficult end to his career at Ferrari

Aston Martin team principal Otmar Szafnauer has insisted Sebastian Vettel is "enjoying racing again".

Vettel endured a difficult end to his Ferrari career as he and Charles Leclerc struggled to the Scuderia's worst campaign since 1980 last term.

After switching to Aston Martin over the winter, Vettel has stood on the podium twice, although his second-place finish in Hungary was chalked off after he was disqualified for a fuel irregularity.

Asked by GPFans Global if Vettel was finding his feet after a difficult start to the year, Szafnauer replied: "Yeah, he's more comfortable on the team. He's more comfortable in himself.

"At the beginning, before Seb came here, he said, 'Look, the reason I want to come is I want to enjoy racing again.' That was his reason for coming. If you ask him, which I often do, he's at a point now where he enjoys racing again.

"He didn't enjoy Silverstone. He was beating himself up a little bit. He said he shouldn't have made that mistake, but it happens to the best of us.

"Anyway, he feels really, really comfortable. He's enjoying racing again, which is good. That's exactly what he wanted."
