Russell cleared of dangerous driving in Raikkonen incident
George Russell has been cleared by the stewards of dangerous driving during the Austrian Grand Prix.
Williams driver Russell was summoned to see the stewards at the Red Bull Ring for allegedly "moving under braking" in his defence over 11th position with Alfa Romeo's Kimi Raikkonen late in the race.
But following the hearing a stewards' report read: "The stewards believe that RUS kept the steering straight and left one car width at the entrance to turn four.
"The stewards were happy that the movement was not dangerous or erratic and accepted the explanation of the driver."
Russell had been on course to score his first points for the team, only for Alpine's Fernando Alonso to demote him outside the top 10 with three laps remaining.
