McLaren ask Aussie fans "What's the weather like in November?"

The Australian Grand Prix has been moved from March to November which has led to McLaren appealing to fans for advice on whether "shorts and sunnies" are still appropriate attire for the new date.

In a tongue-in-cheek social media post, McLaren acknowledged the disappointment likely felt by Australian Formula 1 fans who face a further 10-month wait for the sport to arrive back on their shores.

Daniel Ricciardo joined McLaren from Renault in the off-season and, after the race was cancelled at the last minute last year, his new team are looking to curry favour with the Australian's considerable fanbase.

The 'letter to fans' read: "Dear Aussies,

"We're just as sad that you'll have to wait a little longer to see Daniel Ricciardo on home turf (not forgetting your favourite Englishman Mr Lando Norris!) but we look forward to going back racing Down Under when it's safe to do so.

"You guys truly rock and we hope we can see you in November!

"All the best, The McLaren Team.

"P.S. What's the weather like in November? Should we be packing shorts and sunnies, or what?"

For reference McLaren, temperatures for the November date last year were between 26 and 28 degrees centigrade, so shorts, sunglasses and a high-factor suntan lotion would be our advice!
