There will be 20 drivers on the grid for the 2018 Formula One campaign, and even though Liberty Media are reportedly looking at cost-cutting measures in the future, the constructor teams are still looking to pay the big bucks to gain the best driver. TSM Sportz provide the numbers, but just how accurate are they?
There are not many surprises in terms of the positions in the list, with Sebastian Vettel and Lewis Hamilton of Ferrari and Mercedes respectively taking up the top two positions. However, as the finances themselves are not confirmed by official sources, the wage numbers should be taken with a pinch of salt at this time.
Kimi Raikkonen was reportedly paid $7 million for his services to Ferrari last season, so a remarkable increase to $40 million seems unlikely considering he is the oldest driver on the track.
At the bottom of the pack we have Charles Leclerc of Sauber and Sergey Sirotkiin of Williams who both earn $150,000. The duo are both embarking on their maiden Formula One campaigns which is the reason for the wage disparity.
