Mick Schumacher returned to the Ferrari cockpit to gain further experience ahead of his Formula 1 debut campaign with Haas this season.
The F2 champion and Ferrari Driver Academy graduate took over the wheel of the SF71H for the afternoon after Carlos Sainz had completed a day and a half of running with the Scuderia at its Fiorano test track.
The circuit was where Mick's seven-time champion Michael pounded out the miles in testing numerous Ferraris during his time with the team.
For the 21-year-old, it was his second outing in the 2018 car after a day at the end of September last year ahead of a planned FP1 appearance with Alfa Romeo in the Eifel Grand Prix at the Nürburgring that was ultimately cancelled due to bad weather.
The German will complete a five-day programme with another run on Friday morning, with test driver Callum Ilott completing the schedule in the afternoon.
GPFans has compiled a gallery of images documenting Schumacher's track outing, with one from the archives at the bottom of Michael from 15 years ago in 2006 ahead of what proved to be his final season with the team.
