Ferrari confirm launch date for 2020 F1 car

Ferrari are the first team to confirm the date which its 2020 Formula 1 challenger will be unveiled.

The Scuderia will break cover on its next car on February 11, eight days before the start of pre-season testing.

Team principal Mattia Binotto says the car will be launched "very early", last year's was unveiled just three days before the start of pre-season, due to extra testing required at Maranello as the Scuderia contend with having two days of pre-season testing cut from the 2020 schedule.

"We will launch the car very early. I think we will be the earliest," Binotto said.

"The reason why we are anticipating the launch and the unveiling and then moving on is we must do some dyno homologations before going to Barcelona.

"We are launching the car on the 11 February 2020. Soon after we've got an intense program of bench [testing] before we go to Barcelona."
