Heading to Indianapolis this weekend, the Richard Childress Racing driver's Cup Series race tally stands at 730, during which he has earned 63 wins and 387 top 10 finishes.

On top of that, Busch also has a record 102 wins in the Xfinity Series and 67 in the Truck Series, making him the most-winningest driver combined across all three national NASCAR series.

Now, in an interview on The Pat McAfee Show, Busch has offered an insight into what separates him from other drivers and has ultimately made him more successful.

"When you’re a race car driver and you're going out there, you want to push the car to its absolute limits,” Busch explained.

“And for me, what always sort of made me as successful as I was, I could push it to that 100.5 percent line and just a little bit over the edge and yet keep it under control, where everybody else sort of lies within that 97 to 98 percent range.

"So, you can get that little bit out of it, you can make a lot more hay in being able to get those wins."

Busch will be hoping that he can push his No. 8 to the limit time and time again in the coming weeks as the regular season draws to a close.

With five races to go before the playoffs begin at Darlington on August 31, Busch is trying to point his way in, currently 39 points below the cut line heading into the weekend at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
