Red Bull to "start again from zero" after failures

Sergio Perez is hopeful Red Bull can "start again from zero" when returning to Europe after three retirements for the team in the opening three rounds.

Both Perez and team-mate Max Verstappen retired from podium positions late in the season-opening Bahrain Grand Prix and although the reigning champion won in Saudi Arabia, the Dutchman retired from second yet again in Australia.

Mexican Perez finished second at Albert Park but the early issues for the Milton Keynes-based team have left it trailing Mercedes by 10-points and leader Ferrari by 49 in the constructors' standings.

AlphaTauri's struggles with the Red Bull power unit only add to the levels of concern with Pierre Gasly retiring in Bahrain and Yuki Tsunoda failing to make the start in Saudi Arabia.

On how much worry the failures have given him, Perez replied: "It's certainly a concern.

"We've lost a lot of points already in these first three races that in the end can make a huge difference in the championship.

"So we are obviously aware of it. All the team back home in Milton Keynes, here, are working flat out to try to come up with solutions.

"So yeah, we will see and I'm sure we will turn things around and hopefully we can start again from zero when we go back to Europe."
