McLaren brake issues "won't be an easy fix" - Norris

Lando Norris has conceded McLaren's brake issues on the first day of the second pre-season test in Bahrain "won't be an easy fix".

The British driver was consigned to the garage multiple times throughout the day, leading to him completing only 50 laps across the eight hours of running at the Bahrain International Circuit.

Norris was initially slated to run in the afternoon only but Daniel Ricciardo was forced to sit out the day due to illness.

"I think on the whole, not the day we really wanted," said Norris.

"It started off with me doing the whole day, Daniel was not feeling so well so I decided to jump in. It was much easier to do it that way.

"But we had quite a few issues with the car so it took a while to figure it out and it limited us quite a bit to do the amount of laps we wanted to do.

"A bit frustrating because, especially here being so different to Barcelona, we wanted to really understand as much as we could and the differences in how the car is working here on a bumpier track, which I think we still did to a certain extent. We just couldn't do any of the longer running.

"Made the most of it but definitely some issues which held us back and things we have got to fix"

Providing an insight into the issues that plagued the Woking-based outfit's running, Norris explained: "We just had problems with the brakes, simple as that.

"The exact problem, I am not too sure but temperatures and stuff didn't allow us to do long runs at least.

"There are things we are trying to fix for the next few days. It won't be an easy fix but we will see what we can do. Everyone is working hard to try and come up with something."
