F1 officially confirms 2022 test schedule

Formula 1 has officially revealed the dates for pre-season testing, with the all-new cars set to take to the track for the first time in February.

F1 will race to a new set of aerodynamic regulations this year, leaving teams in the dark as to where they will stand in the pecking order.

The first true indicator of pace will arrive at Barcelona's Circuit de Catalunya where F1 will complete the first of two three-day tests from February 23-25.

With the test likely to be used more as a shakedown than in recent years, an end of day round-up will summarise the action rather than the complete running being broadcast.

Spectators will also not be permitted to attend this test.

For the second three-day test, the paddock will shift to Bahrain from March 10-12, with its conclusion coming just six days prior to FP1 of the season-opening race at the same venue.

This test will be open to the public, with full coverage and live timing also offered.

As per normal, teams will only be permitted to run one car on each of the six days, with the time split between the drivers a decision for the individual constructors.
