Horner-Wolff bickering leaves "a lot to learn" - Seidl
McLaren team principal Andreas Seidl has revealed his keen interest in the feud between Toto Wolff and Christian Horner as he believes "there was a lot to learn" from it.
The championship rivalry between Mercedes and Red Bull had been simmering for the majority of the first half of the season but after the collision between Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen at the British Grand Prix, things reached boiling point.
Both teams held differing views with team principals Wolff and Horner each defending their driver.
Although not involved in the dispute, Seidl said: “I followed that closely.
"I follow what is going on in other teams, not just on the track but also off-track because there is always something you can learn.
"You could be in such a position yourself at some point and that is why I follow it…I would say with great interest because there is also no point to spend too much time on this…but with interest and always with the aim to learn from it.
“There was a lot to learn.”
After his involvement in a lap one incident at the start of the Hungarian Grand Prix, Lando Norris' 15-race points streak came to an end.
The run was a record for a McLaren driver but asked what he had said to Norris in the garage, Seidl joked: “I can’t say that in public.
“In the end, it is part of racing. We all know that. Weekends like that happen and the most important thing is to not get too frustrated or disappointed by it because that doesn’t help you moving forward."
