Christian Horner has insisted his Red Bull team remains "fully motivated" despite losing the lead of both F1 title races ahead of the summer shutdown.

A scintillating start to the season including a run of five race victories on the bounce put Red Bull in the driving seat to end Mercedes' monopoly of the sport.

Max Verstappen's dominance at the Red Bull Ring opened a significant points lead over the Silver Arrows but accidents at the British and Hungarian races with Red Bull picking up just five points saw Mercedes return to the top.

Asked by Sky Sports F1 in Hungary if the overriding feeling was one of anger, Horner replied: "You know what, look at the first half of this year - we are not even at the halfway point - but look at six grand prix victories.

"The races we have lost are with a tyre explosion, taken out at Silverstone and this race this weekend so I think we have a lot to be positive about.

"The whole team is fully motivated. We are going to take a couple of weeks out, get recharged and come out fighting for the second half of the championship. I think it is all to play for.

"There is only the difference between a first and second between the two guys. I think it is going to be epic the second half of this year and we are not giving up on anything."
