Norris "not in perfect condition" after Wembley mugging

Lando Norris has revealed he is "not in perfect condition" ahead of the British Grand Prix after being mugged outside Wembley Stadium on Sunday.

The McLaren driver attended the Euro 2020 final between Italy and England on Sunday that culminated in a penalty shoot-out defeat for manager Gareth Southgate's side.

After leaving the stadium, however, the 21-year-old became the victim of a mugging where his £40,000 Richard Mille watch was stolen.

Asked of his condition ahead of his home race at Silverstone, Norris answered: "I’m alright thanks.

"Maybe not in perfect condition but I’m getting there and I think one of the best things really is being able to come to Silverstone, get my mind off of it and focus on a different job.

“So I’m just excited to be here. I’m getting there and I’m sure I’ll be alright tomorrow.”

McLaren Racing CEO Zak Brown, who will not be in attendance this weekend after testing positive for Covid-19, has offered advice to his driver in the aftermath after suffering three muggings himself.

Brown said: "He is okay, a bit traumatised as you would expect. He has explained to me that it wasn't a very nice experience but he is healthy and he will be fine."
