Williams confirm 2020 driver line-up

Williams have confirmed that Nicholas Latifi will replace Robert Kubica in their race line-up in 2020.

The Canadian has served as Williams' development driver this year and was widely expected to join George Russell in next year's line-up.

Latifi has spent the last four seasons competing full-time in GP2/Formula 2 and finished second to Nyck de Vries in this year's championship.

Latifi is the only graduate to F1 in this year's F2 field, with De Vries having joined Mercedes' Formula E outfit.

"I am thrilled to be stepping up as Race Driver for 2020," Latifi said. "I have thoroughly enjoyed working with the team this year, supporting them with the development of the car, and assisting wherever I can trackside and at the factory.

"I look forward to the journey ahead with the team, and I am excited to make my Formula One debut at the Australian Grand Prix in 2020."
