Hamilton takes in Wimbledon final alongside Tiger Woods as Serena Williams' guest
Lewis Hamilton was not the lucky charm for his friend, tennis legend Serena Williams, on Saturday as the Formula 1 champion took in her Wimbledon final defeat to Angelique Kerber among the American's team. Hamilton was a guest of Williams' at the grand slam final, her first since returning to tennis after the birth of her first child.
Williams would have become the joint-most successful grand slam player of all time, but she must wait until the US Open later this year to go for major title number 24.
Kerber beat Williams 6-3 6-3 on Centre Court on Saturday, the German winning her third major title and first at the All-England Club.
Hamilton has regularly spoken of Williams' inspiration on his own career, while the pair are known to be close friends.

Hamilton was not the only famous face in Serena's box, with golfing icon Tiger Woods and Vogue editor Anna Wintour also present, while the Royal Box was typically star-studded, with Duchess Meghan of Sussex and Duchess Kate of Cambridge taking in Saturday's showpiece.
Wasn’t the result you wanted @serenawilliams but we are so proud of you. You inspire us all. ???????? #proud #goat #serenalove #annawintour #wimbledon pic.twitter.com/DYUcknPEe3 — Lewis Hamilton (@LewisHamilton) July 14, 2018
