Verstappen Monaco crash proves he isn't learning - Perez
Max Verstappen's crash in Monaco Grand Prix practice is proof that he is not learning from his mistakes, according to Formula 1 contemporary Sergio Perez. The Red Bull driver crashed into the barriers out of the swimming pool complex, missing qualifying as a result.
The incident was remarkably similar to a crash Verstappen suffered at exactly the same spot two years ago.
Verstappen has either spun, crashed or made contact with another driver at every vent so far this season, costing him and the team valuable points, with matters coming to a head as he and team-mate Daniel Ricciardo took each other out in Baku.

Although Verstappen has refuted exactly how many of the incidents can be put down to his actions, Perez says the mirror-image incident in Monte Carlo shows the Dutchman must refocus.
"Those things happen. But if it happens after you've done it [before] then it means you haven't learned," Perez said.
"It can happen to anyone, we're all pushing really hard. If it happens twice, then it means you're not learning about it.
"We put our wheels millimetres away [from the barriers], and from the couch maybe it's easier to judge.
"But you should learn from your mistakes."
Verstappen's promotion to the senior Red Bull team from Toro Rosso came as Daniil Kvyat endured a similarly error-prone start to the 2016 season.
Calls have been made for Verstappen to suffer a similar fate, but former F1 driver Felipe Massa does not see Red Bull pulling the trigger.
Massa told Motorsport: "He has the talent, everybody would love to have a driver like him.
"It's not easy to find another driver with the talent that he has. This [getting demoted] will never happen.
"He just needs a little bit of conversation to put him in the right direction."
