Verstappen accuses Stroll of being "f***ing blind" over "unnecessary" crash
Max Verstappen berated Lance Stroll over team radio following what he described as an "unnecessary" collision between the two during the second practice session for the Portuguese Grand Prix.
The incident came just over an hour into the 90-minute run at the Algarve International Circuit in Portimão on Formula 1's return to Portugal for the first time in 24 years,
Red Bull driver Verstappen moved to the inside of Stroll’s Racing Point as the pair headed into the first corner, with the Dutch driver starting a flying lap and the Canadian beginning a second.
With Stroll on the racing line, he turned into Verstappen, resulting in their collision and the former ending up in the gravel.
Over the radio, a fuming Verstappen said: “Is this guy f***ing blind? What the f*** is wrong with him?”
Team boss Christian Horner called the incident a "50-50" but Verstappen said: “I don’t want to talk about it too much. I was so surprised he turned in. I don’t know where I had to go.
“I was starting my lap, he had just finished his lap. It was just unnecessary. There is always a discussion, we can go on forever.”
Asked if he had anything to say about his radio comments, Verstappen declined to apologise, adding: “Not my problem.”
The two drivers have been summoned to the stewards to discuss the incident.
