McLaren publicly backs the F1 #WeRaceAsOne initiative

McLaren has given Formula 1's #WeRaceAsOne initiative it's full support, the team placing anti-racism messages the cars and race suits of Lando Norris and Carlos Sainz.

On Monday morning, Formula 1 announced the #WeRaceAsOne initiative. This is designed to promote diversity in motorsport, a fight discrimination.

Showing support to this campaign, McLaren will have an 'End Racism' displayed on both cars, while the #WeRaceAsOne hashtag also features prominently.

"We fully support Formula 1 on the #WeRaceAsOne campaign as we return to racing," said McLaren CEO Zak Brown.

"Formula 1 and McLaren have a truly worldwide audience, and we recognise that our return to the track is a huge opportunity for our sport to make an impact at a global level, helping those most affected by the Covid-19 crisis and standing together against the blight of racism, as we work steadfastly to build an even stronger culture of diversity, inclusion and equality in our team and our sport."

Another factor of the F1 initiative, is to celebrate the key workers who have been on the front line of the Covid-19 pandemic.

In reference to this, McLaren has placed a large rainbow across the halo on both cars, putting this visual representation of thanks centre stage any time onboard footage is used.
