McLaren CEO Brown resigns from Motorsport Network role after magazine controversy

McLaren CEO has stepped down from his role with Motorsport Network (MSN) as scrutiny increases on the media giant's activities.

MSN have recently confirmed the sale of Racing F1 magazine, while its other main print offering Autosport has had its weekly price raised from £3.99 to £10.99.

The latter move has been widely criticised and is seen as starting the slow death of a publication which has covered motorsport since 1950 – the year the World Drivers' Championship was launched.

Brown had served as MSN's non-executive chairman since January 2016, but reported his resignation a day after the company's digital jump was confirmed.

MSN CEO Yavor Efremov posted on Twitter, thanking Brown for his time at the company.
