We all have those moments of single-digit-battery-percentage anxiety. Maybe you're on the train, desperate for your phone to hold on keep you from having to listen to that arguing couple. You might be shaving with just a tiny patch of fuzz left. Or you could be set to win your first Formula E race, with just a couple of corners to go.

That's the fate that befell Pascal Wehrlein on Saturday (the Formula E one, just to be clear…) as he was denied a maiden triumph in the all-electric series in the most dramatic of circumstances.

With new cars lasting the entire 45-minute-plus-one-lap race, energy consumption has been in focus for the fifth season, and it came to the fore at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez.

Audi's Lucas Di Grassi was the biggest beneficiary of Wehrlein's misfortune – check out the crazy Mexico City E-prix finish below…
