Lauda tributes confirmed at Red Bull Ring
Turn 1 of the Red Bull Ring has been renamed in Niki Lauda's honour, it has been confirmed.
Drivers will set off from the start-finish line towards the Niki Lauda Kurve from now on, as Austria's three-time world champion is commemorated in the year of his passing.
Lauda died at the age of 70 earlier this year, having suffered from multiple health issues and undergoing a life-saving lung transplant last summer.
Mercedes, the team he had helped lead since 2013, have confirmed a permanent tribute will remain on their cars and another lasting tribute will also be held at his home race, which he won once in 1984.

This week's race is the first in Austria since his passing, and a huge tribute will be paid to Lauda before the race.
Thousands upon thousands of red caps ā a staple of Lauda's wardrobe for many years after suffering burns in his infamous Nurburgring crash ā have been placed on seats at the Spielberg circuit, allowing fans to come together to pay their own tribute to the legendary champion.
