Niki Lauda will be buried in his racing overalls, according to reports in the three-time world champion's native Austria. Lauda's famous red racing helmet will also be placed on top of his coffin at his funeral next Wednesday in Vienna.

Lauda will be buried after a ceremony at St Stephan's Cathedral, with fans able to pay their final respects to the driver, who died this week aged 70.

The funeral service will be confined to close friends and family, although others in attendance at the cathedral will have two opportunities to take photographs and pay their last respects.

Nachrichten quotes St Stephan's pastor Toni Faber suggesting Lauda will be put to rest in a race suit.
