Vettel pays tribute to Lauda with special Monaco GP helmet
Sebastian Vettel will race with a specially designed helmet at the Monaco Grand Prix, paying tribute to Niki Lauda after the Austrian's passing this week at the age of 70. Vettel's design apes the classic look Lauda carried in his racing career, with his name emblazoned on a red background.
Vettel wrote a letter to Lauda as he recovered from a lung transplant last year, something the three-time world champion said was a "great pleasure… full of fine words".
Ferrari will carry Lauda's name on their car by way of tribute, with similar markings appearing on cars up and down the grid.
But Vettel showed all his class, introducing a new lid for the Monaco weekend.
