23XI Racing star Bubba Wallace has revealed NASCAR team owner Michael Jordan’s words of wisdom after a disastrous race at Pocono last weekend.

Wallace is yet to end his winless streak in 2025, and more importantly only has nine more races to compete for a spot in the playoffs or else he faces a second-consecutive year out of the final 16.

In a devastating blow to his playoff chances, the 31-year-old failed to finish last Sunday’s race at Pocono after a brake failure punctured his right-front tire and Wallace was sent crashing into the wall.

Speaking after the race, Wallace was asked if he had any warning of his brake failure, to which he replied: “Nothing.

"I was going to battle the 17 [Chris Buescher] and the 2 [Austin Cindric] and by the time I was ready to touch the pedal it just went to the floor, brakes exploded.

“I hate it, we’ve had two or three good races in-a-row and then here we go with the bad luck again.”

Wallace’s NASCAR playoff hopes dwindle

Despite a disappointing result at Pocono, Wallace tried to heed the wisdom of 23XI Racing co-owner Michael Jordan but instead bemoaned the team’s fate last weekend.

“But hey, MJ [Michael Jordan] told me there’s no such thing as bad luck, so we create our own luck,” Wallace continued.

“Apologise to the racing gods, this weekend sucked aside from practice, but that pays nothing.”

“I hate it for my guys. I hate it for McDonald’s."

"We knew it was going to be a grind and I was mentally prepared for that all day.

“As frustrating as it gets not being able to pass here in Pocono, we were just going to just take our lumps and march our way through and set ourselves up for the end of the race, and the brakes didn’t want to hang around that long.”
