Formula 1 stars will take to the track today (Saturday, June 14) in Montreal to determine the starting order for the 2025 Canadian Grand Prix.
Track position has been vitally important so far this F1 season, and has historically been key at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, making today's session incredibly important for all 20 drivers on the grid.
While McLaren seem to have the advantage in qualifying over their rivals, Max Verstappen has managed to claim three poles out of nine in 2025, and with Mercedes looking quick in practice on Friday, we could have plenty of competition for pole.
Four-time world champion Verstappen is currently 49 points behind championship leader Oscar Piastri, and is scrambling to keep his championship chances alive, while also teetering on the edge of a one-race ban from the sport.
Elsewhere, seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton will be hoping to turn around his dismal qualifying form with his new Ferrari team. He has only been able to outqualify new teammate Charles Leclerc twice in nine attempts in 2025.
However, Leclerc was only able to get 15 minutes of practice in on Friday, following a crash in FP1 that also ruled him out of FP2, meaning he, too, is up against it this weekend.
With that said, let's get into the all-important details ahead of today's action!
