German GP future yet to be resolved
Organisers of the German Grand Prix at Hockenheim have poured fresh doubt on the long-term future of the race's place on the Formula 1 calendar. The German race has encountered financial troubles in recent years at both the Hockenheim and the Nurburgring.
The Nurburgring has not hosted the race since 2013 due to financial trouble.
Hockenheim will host the race this year, but their deal with F1 - signed with Bernie Ecclestone - expires in 2018.
As such, there is no deal to keep the race in place beyond this season, with Hockenheim CEO Georg Seiler revealing serious talks with Liberty Media are yet to begin.
"The contract ends in 2018,” Seiler told MotorsportMagazin.com.
"We've met with the new owners and talked, because we have the 2018 Grand Prix to organise.

"We are going to hold talks about what the future looks like, but no serious discussions have taken place yet.
"In the next few months negotiations must be properly carried out.
"Unfortunately, I cannot say yet whether things will continue in a positive way. I can only say that we strive to continue to keep Formula 1 in Germany. But there are many factors involved.
"As ever, we do not want to take economic risks and will not do so. We will do our best, but we cannot guarantee anything.
"The relationship is friendly, but we will wait to see the numbers.
"They know our situation, they know that it is not easy to organise F1 at the Hockenheimring or in general in Germany.
"Both the Nurburgring and the Hockenheimring deserve an F1 race because they are the two big traditional racetracks. It would therefore be good if we come to a solution."
