Norris praises positive F1 response to mental health issues
Lando Norris claims he has seen a positive response from within F1 to his push for mental health awareness.
Norris and McLaren partnered with Mind last year, a charity that specifically aims to help people with mental health.
The British driver provided a voice throughout the season, bringing awareness to the subject, as well as lending his weight to the topic of equality in the sport.
Asked if he felt discussions on such issues had been taken on board within F1, Norris replied: "Yeah, for sure.
"Definitely, from my side and within our team as McLaren, we have always been doing things. We have our partnership with Mind and we do a lot of things with them, a lot of things within the team.
"Not just for drivers but mechanics, engineers and people back in the factory to allow them to speak up and allow them to say what they want to say and make the whole atmosphere within the team feel better and allow them to feel better too."
Norris feeling benefits of mental health work
Norris is in his third season in F1 and lies third in the standings with two podiums from the first five races.
The 21-year-old indicated he was in a much better place mentally and put the improvement down to the openness throughout the team.
"It has changed," he added. "Only because it has been more and more advanced, we have talked about it more and people have been more open about it and things like that.
"From my side, I feel a lot better, I am in a better position, mentally in a better position and I feel like I can be confident in saying a lot of the team are as well."
