Recently dismissed Ferrari team principal Maurizio Arrivabene has once again been linked to a full-time director role behind the scenes at Serie A side Juventus, only days after learning he would not have his contract renewed with the Prancing Horse for the 2019 F1 season.

The 2018 campaign was a failure for Ferrari as once again they were dominated by Mercedes. They finished second in the constructor's championship, while Lewis Hamilton won his fifth driver's title at the expense of Sebastian Vettel.

Their championship challenge was derailed around the same time that their CEO, Sergio Marchionne, passed away in the summer after complications following shoulder surgery.

Arrivabene had been Ferrari's team boss since November 2014, but lost his position earlier this week.

This is not the first time the Italian has been linked with a director position with Juventus, where he has been an independent board member since 2012.

In October last year, rumours circulated that he was in line to replace Giuseppe Marotta as CEO of the Italian champions, but he denied the claims at the time, saying:

“I have been an exponent of the company’s Board of Directors for many years and before taking up this position in Maranello, I had the delegation of control/risks and I am pleased to remain on the board, provided that the appointment is accepted at the next shareholders’ meeting, and I am honoured, but my work remains here,”
