VIDEO: Lando Norris' journey to McLaren stardom
The first rookie to be confirmed for the 2019 Formula 1 grid was announced on Monday, with McLaren naming Lando Norris as Carlos Sainz's team-mate for next season. The teenage prodigy has been tipped for a glittering F1 career and is set to be thrown in at the deep end next year.
Norris has won a myriad of series in junior formulae, culminating with last year's European F3 Championship success.
A title challenge in his maiden Formula 2 campaign has stumbled in recent months, but he remains second placed to Mercedes junior George Russell and has displayed plenty of on-track skill and daring in 2018.
But what goes into the making of a prodigious motorsport talent? McLaren shared some fantastic footage of Norris' early career to give us an insight...
