Verstappen is perfect in 2019 - Rosberg

Former Formula 1 world champion Nico Rosberg believes that Max Verstappen is currently having a “perfect” 2019 season despite having not won a race, and being fourth in the driver’s championship behind Sebastian Vettel, Valtteri Bottas, and leader, Lewis Hamilton.

With both Ferrari and Mercedes holding a significant power advantage of Red Bull, Verstappen has not found himself amongst the race victories so far this season, instead solidly picking up points in every race, including via two podium spots.

Rosberg thinks that, with the car he has, the Dutchman has been perfection this campaign.

"The Max Verstappen season is perfect,” the FInn said.

“After Lewis, he is the best driver on the current grid. He gets the maximum out of the car and grabs the maximum number of points that can be achieved with the RB15.

"So a perfect season, which he also shows today. More than P4 is simply not available at the moment."

Looking to the championship as a whole, Rosberg believes Vettel’s bid is over, and that Bottas is the only real challenger to Hamilton.

“Vettel no longer has a chance, so that leaves only Bottas,” he suggested.

“And we all know that it will be difficult. Lewis simply has the best chances to win the title. His sixth: Incredible! And then Mercedes, which is going to win the sixth manufacturer's title. We have never seen that in Formula 1!"

After eight races, Hamilton is 87 points ahead of Verstappen in the title rankings.
