Dutch media launch petition for Dutch Grand Prix

Dutch media Ziggo Sport have launched a petition to attempt to secure a Dutch Grand Prix in the near future, with the TT circuit in Assen and the track in Zandvoort as the two main candidates to host a race.

The explosion of interest in Max Verstappen has led to a huge following in the Netherlands, with the Belgian Grand Prix in Spa next weekend expected to be overrun by Max fans travelling across the border.

With Liberty Media giving serious consideration to expanding the calendar, a number of countries have entered the race, including the USA, Vietnam, Argentina and Denmark.

But with Max performing at a high level with Red Bull the home support there are clamouring for a race of their own, and Ziggo, via one of their broadcasters, Rob van Gameren, have taken up the bid, launching their own petition.

Should they receive enough signatures they plan to take the results to Chase Carey and Liberty Media, hoping to convince them that visiting the Netherlands on the circuit is worthwhile.

If you would like to get involved and sign, you can do so here.
