F1 Sprint Results: McLaren no match for Max Verstappen at Belgian Grand Prix

The results from Saturday's F1 sprint at Spa!

Red Bull star Max Verstappen won Saturday's sprint race at the Belgian Grand Prix, with McLaren having no answer to his pace down the straights.

The reigning world champion had started the sprint in second position, with Oscar Piastri on pole for McLaren. However, the Dutchman overtook the Aussie into Les Combes on the very first lap, and didn't budge for the remainder of the race.

Piastri tried time and time again, with DRS, to pass the reigning world champion, but the Red Bull's high straight-line speed setup was simply too much to contend with given the higher downforce approach McLaren had adopted.

Lando Norris was also overtaken at the start of the race, highlighting McLaren's weakness in a straight line further, although the Brit was able to get back past Charles Leclerc to take third position quite comfortably come the end of the race.

Further down the field, Lewis Hamilton's miserable weekend continued as he failed to scythe through the field from his low grid position, finishing just 15th behind the Aston Martin pair of Lance Stroll and Fernando Alonso.
