Former F1 driver Romain Grosjean has become an ambassador for a new NFT-based virtual race car collection, GP Metaverse.
The collection will feature 10,000 unique NFTs [non-fungible tokens] in a community-based environment, giving those involved access to monthly giveaways and exclusive events.
The revolutionary metaverse is based on the eco-friendly Polygon blockchain, ensuring better energy efficiency and zero gas fees for every car purchase at a time when the NFT industry is under fire for its effects on climate change.
The GP Metaverse also plans to support young racers through Racing Academies sponsorship.
Current Andretti Autosports Indycar driver Grosjean said: "GP Metaverse is an exciting NFT project where autosport, gamification and collectables come together and cool that I have my own unique car NFT too."
As well as his branded NFT, Grosjean will offer signed merchandise, video call and sim sessions for those within the GP Metaverse community.
I am excited to announce that I'll be participating in the GP Metaverse starting next week with my own #NFT Car #0008.
