Hamilton makes "fantastic" investment in start-up business

Seven-time F1 champion Lewis Hamilton has been named as an investor in an on-demand grocery start-up business.

Hamilton has played a part in helping Zapp, that operates in London, Amsterdam and Rotterdam, raise £150million to fund its growth after launching in late 2020.

The company was one of many that took advantage of the pandemic era to deliver products to those people hit by lockdown and quarantine regulations.

Despite the easing of restrictions across the United Kingdom, in particular, Zapp is continuing to prove a popular addition to the market as it promises its goods can be delivered in under 20 minutes.

Head of strategy Steve O'Hear has described Hamilton's support as "fantastic".

Singapore's sovereign wealth fund, which has played a major role in the staging of its country's grand prix over the years, has also joined the 37-year-old in investing.

Zapp has declined to comment on the amount of Hamilton's financial contribution.
