Alpine can take on my "crazy ideas" - Brivio
Alpine racing director Davide Brivio is hoping to bring "crazy ideas" to the table after moving from Suzuki's MotoGP programme during the winter.
Alpine has undergone some sizeable changes across the winter, not least in its rebranding from Renault to its current guise.
Team principal Cyril Abiteboul and Renault Sport president Jerome Stoll left the outfit with Laurent Rossi and Brivio joining Marcin Budkowski to head up a new look three-strong management team.
Joining from outside the F1 bubble, Italian Brivio is aiming to bring some 'crazy ideas' from the MotoGP paddock.
“I am in a learning stage now, trying to understand and I hope I will be able to give my contribution," Brivio said.
"Maybe coming from outside I can try to give some idea, maybe sometimes a crazy idea - they might stop me! – or maybe something interesting from a different perspective."
Brivio led the Suzuki team to a championship double last year with Joan Mir picking up the riders' championship, with Alpine poaching him to steer the new era for the team in F1.
The Italian was full of praise for the team's existent organisation and is looking forward to taking the team forward in the championship.
"I have to say I found a very good organisation with very good people, very good engineers," he added.
"Marcin did a very good job on organising everything so the team here at the track I am quite happy, delighted, to see how they work.
“I have full respect and I really appreciate what has been done so far. Of course, now I am a part of the organisation and as a part of the team, all together we have to see how we can improve and what we can make better to continue this process."
