Formula 1 reports zero positive Covid tests

Formula 1 has reported that of 4,032 Covid-19 tested completed by drivers and personnel, none have returned a positive result.

Although F1 racing has returned, the global pandemic has not gone away. Paddock signage reminds personnel to remain two metres apart, hand sanitiser stations now stand at regular intervals and a one way system has been introduced within the paddock to further ensure social distancing.

All personnel attending grand prix events are required to undergo multiple rounds of Covid-19 testing. To ensure safety, testing will be required to take place every five days.

A brief statement from F1 on Saturday morning confirmed the pre-event testing results.

"The FIA and Formula 1 can today confirm that between Friday 26th June and Thursday 2nd July, 4,032 drivers, teams and personnel were tested for Covid-19," read the statement.

"Of these, zero people have tested positive.

"The FIA and Formula 1 are providing this aggregated information for purposed of competition integrity and transparency.

"No specific details as to teams or individuals will be provided by the FIA or Formula 1 and results will be made public every 7 days.
