Billy Monger has kicked off his television punditry career by joining Channel 4 for their coverage of Formula 1 Grand Prix races for the 2019 season, with the 19-year-old set to provide analysis alongside David Coulthard and Mark Webber on the channel's highlights show.

The Brit previously had two legs amputated following a Formula 4 crash at Donington Park in 2017, only to make a miraculous return last year to Formula 3 action.

Although he still holds an ambition to compete in Formula 1 one day, he remains excited about joining Channel 4, having watched their coverage over the years

"I'm delighted to join the Channel 4 F1 team this season working around my own racing calendar," the 19-year-old said.

"I've been watching the F1 coverage on TV since I was little and whilst my goal remains to be racing in one of the cars out on track one day, I am really excited to get broadcasting from the paddock this year."

The channel has struck a deal with Sky which will see them allowed to air highlights of each Grand Prix race, as well as the British Grand Prix live.

The coverage is presented by Steve Jones, and as well as Coulthard and Webber, it features Ben Edwards, Lee McKenzie, and Eddie Jordan.
