Alonso adds another race to 2019 schedule
Fernando Alonso will return to the 24 Hours of Daytona in 2019 as he plots his first campaign in 17 years without Formula 1 commitments. Alonso took part in the endurance race earlier this year with United Autosports, and will return to Daytona in January with Wayne Taylor Racing.
Alonso and former F1 driver Kamui Kobayashi are confirmed as part of a four-man lineup in the No. 10 Cadillac which will also feature Jordan Taylor and Renger van der Zande.
Daytona ????????????!!!! Happy and proud to join the Konica Minolta Cadillac team and Wayne Taylor Racing to race at the Rolex 24 At Daytona. Can’t wait to be back at this special place and work with the team and my teammates @jordan10taylor @Rengervdz @kamui_kobayashi ?? #Daytona pic.twitter.com/eDLOgxK1qn — Fernando Alonso (@alo_oficial) November 27, 2018
Alonso raced in the LMP2 class with United Autosports earlier this year but was hampered by a brake problem and finished 13th.
He has dominated the World Endurance Championship this year with Toyota, winning the 24 Hours of Le Mans to add a second leg of the 'Triple Crown' alongside his pair of Monaco GP wins.

He will look to complete the set next year when he tackles the Indianapolis 500 with McLaren, while he has also been linked with a drive in NASCAR's Daytona 500 as he charts a path through life without F1.
