Who is driving for Ferrari in 2019?
Ferrari will take a plunge into something close to the unknown next year as they prepare to race the second-youngest driver in the team's history – Charles Leclerc. Pressure will be on at Maranello as Sebastian Vettel copes with a new teammate and a renewed title tilt. We profile the 2019 Ferrari driver line-up.SEBASTIAN VETTEL
Vettel fell short to Lewis Hamilton in 2017 and 2018, but the progress made by Ferrari across the past two seasons has kept the German confident that he can add a fifth world title to his collection in the red car.
The four-time world champion was dominant with Red Bull between 2010-2013, but has since been overshadowed by Hamilton and Mercedes, who have run away with honours in the V6 Hybrid era.
Vettel remains a strong competitor, however, and he remains the only driver not named Hamilton or Rosberg to have racked up double figures for race wins since 2014.
On-track errors came to characterise his failed title tilt in 2018, so expect Vettel to return for the new season with a fresh focus, aiming to return to the metronomic form that was his hallmark previously.
CHARLES LECLERC
Most, if not all, eyes will be on Leclerc next season as he steps into one of the hottest F1 seats in just his second season on the grid.
Few drivers have entered F1 with as much pedigree as Leclerc, who won junior titles in four consecutive years – culminating in 2017's Formula 2 triumph – before making his top-level bow with Sauber this year.
Leclerc has wiped the floor with an experienced teammate in the shape of Marcus Ericsson this year – initially driving the Sauber well above its capabilities to notch sixth in Azerbaijan, before embarking on a solid run of late-season scoring form as the team developed their car into a midfield contender.
Only Mexico's Ricardo Rodriguez has raced for Ferrari at an age younger than the 21 years and 153 days that Leclerc will be lining up on the grid at the 2019 Australian GP.
