Is Lewis Hamilton XNDA? F1 star responds to questions on Christina Aguilera collaboration
There was no getting a tune out of Lewis Hamilton on Thursday as the Formula 1 world champion refused to discuss suggestions that he is the featured artist on a song on popstar Christina Aguilera's new album. A mystery artist listed as 'XNDA' is credited as co-writing and performing on the song 'Pipe'.
Hamilton has made no secret of his passion for music in the past, even going as far as to suggest that a musical career could be on the cards when his glittering stint in Formula 1 cones to an end.
'Pipe' features on Aguilera's new album 'Liberation' and is a saucy song, in which the 'Dirrty' singer says "I get loud when you put that pipe down."
XNDA - who fans believe to be Hamilton - responds in a verse with: "I'm about to show you domination."
Amid social-media buzz, Hamilton was asked to confirm if he is indeed the featured artist, but the four-time world champion would not take his attention away from the Red Bull Ring.
"Nothing's really changed from the last races," Hamilton said ahead of the Austrian Grand Prix.
"My sole goal right now and focus is fully Formula 1.
"In the last race I was like 'it's not something I really want to speak about'. I'm here to focus solely on trying to win the championship."
Pop star Aguilera was a guest of Hamilton's at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix earlier this year, providing fans with another clue that the four-time world champion is indeed the man behind the verse.
"It's crazy to think that @xtina was standing next to my car and came by to say hi to me," Hamilton posted after winning the race in Baku this April. "I grew up watching her success and admiring her journey. This was a cool moment."
