Kaz Grala has found a new drive for this weekend at Dover, but it's come at the expense of a previously full-time driver.

Kris Wright has announced this week that he will be leaving Our Motorsports with immediate effect, taking him out of the rest of the NASCAR Xfinity Series.

The 31-year-old Wright has had a tough year in his first full-time Xfinity Series campaign, grabbing just one top-ten finish (at Martinsville) and not racking up as much as another top-15.

Grala will replace Wright this weekend at Dover, but it's unclear whether he'll be picking up the baton at the family-owned team for the rest of the year.

Kris Wright confirms immediate departure from Our Motorsports

The team have yet to post about Wright's departure on their sporadically-updated Twitter account, while their official website simply shows a screen that says the website is 'suspended'.

Fortunately, Wright has at least released a statement of his own confirming the move, writing: “I appreciated the opportunity to work with Our Motorsports and to compete in the NASCAR Xfinity Series this season.

“While I’m stepping away from the No. 5 car, I’m excited for what lies ahead and thankful for all I’ve learned during my time in the Xfinity Series.”

This weekend's Xfinity Series action will start and finish on Saturday at the Monster Mile, with qualifying bright and early at midday.
