F1 2025 Results: Austrian Grand Prix final classification after Lando Norris disqualification fear

Lando Norris

The FIA has announced the official final classification from the Austrian Grand Prix, confirming Lando Norris as the race winner.

Despite the McLaren star taking the checkered flag at the Red Bull Ring, there were some doubts raised over his machinery post-race, when Sky Sports pundit and former F1 driver Anthony Davidson revealed concerns over the wear to his plank.

There are very strict rules over how much wear is allowed on said planks, and any wear beyond the defined limit results in a disqualification. Lewis Hamilton, for example, was disqualified for that very reason after the Chinese Grand Prix back in March, and speaking post-race, Davidson shared concern that Norris could potentially suffer the same fate after how much his plank was throwing up dust throughout the race.

“This plume of dust coming out of Lando’s car, I saw it continuously through the race,” Davidson said on Sky Sports when reviewing footage post-race.

“This is, I believe, the resin plank of the car, you can see all these scrape marks. Many cars have been doing this. Maybe I am worrying unnecessarily for Lando’s side of the garage, but if they are to check the plank wear at the end of this race, I am going to be really intrigued to see how they get on. It was definitely more than his team-mate consistently through the race.”

Post-race, the FIA confirmed that Norris' car was one of nine whose plank and skid block were checked, but the wear was within the regulations, with Norris' victory now confirmed by their official final classification.

Of course, Norris held off his teammate Oscar Piastri in Austria, who finished second, whilst Ferrari's Charles Leclerc rounded out the podium, with team-mate Lewis Hamilton behind in fourth.

On the flip side, it was a rough day for Red Bull at their home race, with Max Verstappen suffering a DNF and Yuki Tsunoda finishing 16th and last of all the cars that finished.

With that said, let's take a look at the full final classification from Sunday's race.
