IndyCar champion Alex Palou issues clear verdict on Cadillac F1 chance

IndyCar champion Alex Palou has opened up on the chance of him joining Formula 1, with two new seats with an American team up for grabs ahead of 2026.

Palou has won three IndyCar championships in the last four seasons and is undoubtedly the dominant force in the series, with two race wins under his belt already in 2025.

However, his success in recent years has also brought about rumors about a potential switch to F1, and these have only got louder since it was revealed that Cadillac would be joining the grid next season.

It doesn't appear as though Palou will be one of their drivers, however, insisting he has not talked to any F1 teams, never mind Cadillac, and that he is very happy with his life in the United States.

Palou: My life in America is almost perfect

“I think maybe we're past the stage of trying to have a space in Formula 1. It didn't work out," Palou said, via Soy Motor.

"I think I'm at a point now where it's too late. The truth is that there is nothing. There is no conversation and there hasn't been.

"Maybe the good results I'm having in IndyCar would have meant a little more than they do now if I had had them eight years ago, when I was 20."

The Spaniard continued: "What I know is that I am very happy in the United States and in IndyCar. I can't complain about anything and I'm not lacking anything.

"I'm really enjoying both racing and my personal life, now that I'm a father and I have a little girl. Right now I'm at a point in my life where everything is almost perfect and I'm not complaining about anything and I'm not trying to get anywhere."
