VIDEO: 2020 Formula 1 drivers salaries revealed

Formula 1 drivers are among the highest-paid athletes in the world but just how much did each driver take home in 2020?

Business Book GP has released a list of basic driver salaries for the past year. This list does not factor in personal sponsors and focusses instead on only the salaries being paid directly from the team to its drivers.

However, as several drivers agreed to take pay cuts across the year in order to help their teams survive the Covid-19 pandemic and the exact figures are closely guarded secrets, take these figures with a pinch of salt.

Using these figures as a guide in any case, it is interesting to see which teams could struggle to dip under the $30million salary cap set to be introduced for 2023, with this total to include the wages of both drivers.
