VIDEO: Join Max Verstappen on a record-breaking lap of Zandvoort

With Formula 1 confirming that we will return to Zandvoort next year as the Dutch Grand Prix makes a comeback to the sporting calendar, a lot of attention has turned to the seaside circuit. Will it produce thrilling racing? That seems uncertain for now, but it's certainly a stiff challenge for the drivers.

With plenty of high-speed corners, gravel waiting to punish any mistakes and narrow segments to negotiate, Zandvoort is a favourite of many drivers already.

Although the track has not been in F1 for many years, it has remained a staple in junior categories.

As such, plenty of the grid should be comfortable with the track, none more so perhaps than Max Verstappen – the home hero, who has driven the track very recently for Red Bull's events in his homeland.

Not only is Verstappen familiar with Zandvoort, he's also a record-breaker there!

The Dutchman lowered the circuit's unofficial track record last year to 1:19.511 in a RB8, Red Bull's 2012 title-winning car.

The record is near certain to go again next year – will Verstappen keep hold of it?
